Students were challenged to create a 1 minute 3D Animated Movie to support a PR campaign to recruit students for WITs’ Multimedia degree programmes. Given a PR brief, they were required to create new assets as well as animate provided content. The project demonstrated Storyboarding, Animation, Morph Targets, Motion Capture and Project Management skills. See Project Gantt Chart below.

The study investigates the use of musical intelligence to improve the English pronunciation of Chinese third level students. It is relevant for a human centred systems engineering approach to cross-cultural interaction.
Important as valid communication can help interactions and cultural understanding between countries, this also may benefit international stability. There are natural barriers between the English and Chinese language which are reflected in teaching approaches.

Enquiries are sought for students to undertake a MSc in Computer Science by research at WIT. This focus is on investigating the application of Mayers Cognitive Multimedia Learning Theory in a sports domains through the use of iPod and associated technologies. The aim is to specialise in sport activities with a definite strategic focus on learning. The course is suitable for a graduate with a computer science background and a keen interest in sports. However it may also be attractive to graduate with Sports Coaching or traditional Educational qualifications, and relevant computing experience, who wish to explore the potential of Multimedia as a learning tool. Work was completed in association with Irish u18 ladies basketball during their tour to united states in 2009. WIT KRG are in early development stages of new Enterprise Ireland Innovation Voucher project with Irish company TocaSport Ltd.
The primary aim of this project is to investigate the development of a set of integrated web and mobile based tools to allow athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike to easily and quickly track their training, monitor their progress, and build a history of their training. It should allow all levels of athletes and users to get the most from their training and
Users will upload training performance sessions (Times, Dates, Locations, Reps, Recoverys etc) direct from their mobile device to a central web server. They may then either review their performance data online or via mobile at any location, even during training and racing.
As a secondary requirement the project will also investigate the feasibility of the integration of the following add-on services:
- Server Side dynamic graphs for performance analysis.
- Potential for uploading data from Bluetooth or Infrared external devices such as Polar and Garmin Heart Rate Monitors, PowerTap, SRM and Ergomo Power systems.
